Understanding How a Health Check Works at Nordic Med

Getting a health check is about gaining a clear and reliable picture of your overall well-being — and the process should feel simple, safe and transparent. At Nordic Med in Marbella, we offer medical health checks tailored to different needs and life situations. Whether you want to monitor hormones, vitamins, fertility or perform a more comprehensive annual check-up, the process is always structured step by step with medical accuracy.

Choosing Your Health Check

The first step is to book your appointment online through our website. There you can explore our different categories — such as Fertility & Pregnancy, Hormones, STI, Allergies, Specific Organs, Vitamins & Minerals, or our larger panels like the Women’s Health Check.
Each category includes a clear description of what is analysed, plus preparation instructions such as fasting, avoiding biotin supplements, or visiting before 12:00.

Your Visit and Blood Sample

Once you’ve selected your test and booked your time, you visit our clinic for the blood draw. Our medical team greets you and ensures the experience is smooth and comfortable. The sample collection usually takes only a few minutes, and we are always available to answer questions or explain the process.
Afterwards, the samples are sent to our laboratory for analysis according to the health package you selected.

Receiving Your Results

When the analysis is complete, your results are delivered digitally, together with a medical comment from one of our doctors. The doctor’s note helps you understand the results, whether something needs follow-up, or if everything looks normal.
If any value is alarming or unexpectedly abnormal, you will also be contacted by phone so that we can quickly create an action plan and provide further medical guidance.

Why Many Choose Annual Health Checks

Many patients choose to repeat their health check yearly to track changes over time and detect imbalances before they develop into symptoms or long-term issues.
A health check with us not only shows how your body is doing today — it also helps you understand your health needs and take control of your long-term well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to fast before the blood test?

It depends on which test you select. Each test page clearly states whether fasting is required. Many of the larger health checks recommend fasting for at least 10 hours.

Can I take the test if I’m on medication?

Yes, in most cases it’s fine. Some medications can affect certain markers, so it’s important to inform our staff during your visit and review the information listed on each test page.

How quickly will I receive my results?

Most results arrive within 2–3 business days, depending on the analysis. Each test lists its own expected turnaround time. Results are delivered digitally with a medical commentary.

Will someone help me understand my results?

Yes. All results are reviewed by a doctor, and you will receive a clear explanation. If any serious or unexpected abnormalities are found, we will also call you to discuss a plan of action.

Can I take the test if I have a cold or don’t feel well?

A mild cold is usually fine, but fever or an active infection may affect certain values. Contact us if you’re unsure.

Are my results stored?

Yes. All results are securely stored in your medical record according to GDPR so you can monitor your values over time.

Can I book multiple tests at the same time?

At the moment, you can only book one test at a time through our website. If you wish to add additional tests or combine health checks, simply contact us and we will arrange it for your visit.
