A blood test that analyzes Hepatitis C antibodies (IgG) to determine if you have been exposed to the virus. Recommended after unprotected sex, blood contact, or other risk situations.
This blood test detects antibodies (IgG) against the Hepatitis C virus to determine if you have had a past infection or may carry an active one. Hepatitis C is mainly transmitted through blood contact, such as shared needles, unprotected sex involving blood exposure, tattoos or piercings with non-sterilized equipment, and accidents involving infected blood. The disease often develops silently and may go unnoticed for years. When symptoms appear, they may include fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, abdominal pain, or yellowing of the skin and eyes. Without treatment, chronic Hepatitis C can lead to liver damage, cirrhosis, or even liver cancer, making early detection crucial. Testing is recommended after possible blood exposure, unsafe sexual contact, tattoos or piercings at unregulated studios, for members of risk groups, or before pregnancy. A positive result means you've been exposed to the virus and need further evaluation to rule out active infection. If abnormal results are found, our doctor will contact you for medical guidance.
